We’ll soon be getting together in Bantry for the 2023 O’Donovan Gathering! Registration and kickoff celebrations start on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Maritime Hotel.
Event plans are in place, with boat excursions, a barbecue and banquet as major highlights. We’ll have enough free time to allow us to explore the beautiful surrounding area, and meet and mingle informally, hosted by some great West Cork pubs!
In addition, each day, a stellar line-up of experts will enlighten us about O’Donovan genealogy and history. Tickets to individual lecture sessions can be obtained in the Add-on area of our Eventbrite ticket page.
As you may have noted on the Gathering Agenda, Teige O’Donovan, The O’Donovan, Chief of the Name, will officially open the Gathering with a short address at the Maritime on Wednesday, 14 June at 7:30PM. A meetup with music will follow at the Quays Bar. All are welcome.
New! A professional photographer will be available for family/group portraits on both Thursday and Saturday.
Weather permitting, you can book a photo shoot Thursday afternoon in the vicinity of Castle Donovan, with the Castle as a backdrop.
Saturday evening shoots can take place with Bantry Bay in the background.
Several time slots are available – photographer will discuss payment methods and delivery of digital files with you at the shoot. Please email kathleen@odonovangathering.com to reserve a time.
